We are always looking for ways to organize our home in a way that makes it functional yet simple. Having a one year old, things get messy QUICK so we wanted to get ahold of our fridge and make it more functional for our family. Here are some of our tips for refrigerator organization.

One of our go to places for organization bins and other products is The Container Store.
We are so excited to have finally crossed this organization project off of our list. If we can do it, we know you can, and we are sharing all the products we used to make it easier for you to tackle this project.

Assess the mess and purge
In all of our organization projects, we assess the mess before running to the store. This keeps us from buying unnecessary items and helps us purge things that are no longer in use. In this case, items that were expired.
Make a game plan
After clearing the fridge of items that needed to be thrown out, we made a game plan. First, take inventory of the items bought weekly. For example, eggs are always needed. We then mocked up how we wanted the fridge to be set up. This is not always set in stone, we move stuff around while actively working on organizing it. Finally, we went to the container store and stocked up on the containers needed for this refrigerator organization project.
Get to Work
After purchasing our containers, it was time to get the fridge cleaned and organized. This is the fun part? Seeing it all come together and organized is such a great feeling. We took everything out of the fridge, washed the shelves, wiped down everything, and started putting the food items into containers. This is where items get moved around until it is functional for our family.
Maintenance
Try to always put items back in their spot after using them. After coming home from the grocery store, go ahead and put the items where they belong. You put in all that effort to organize it, so put in the effort to keep it up.
